Aurelian Carlescu graduated from the Faculty of Physics of the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iasi, Science Engineering specialization. Then continued with a master’s degree in Advanced Materials. Nanotechnologies. The doctorate was also completed at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iasi with an 18-month internship at the University of Frigourg, Friboug, Switzerland.
The main research areas include optoelectronics and spintronics, using organic semiconductor material, transparent oxides and conductors semiconductors, perovskite semiconductors, magnetic semiconductors (ferrites). Deposition of thin films by different methods (thermal evaporation in a vacuum, spin coating, pulse laser deposition) as well as their characterization from a structural, electrical, magnetic, optical point of view.
