Aurelian-Petruș Plopeanu is Senior Researcher and Head of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Department (DSU) from the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research at the ”Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași. He joined DSU in 2013. He obtained his Ph.D. at the ”Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași in 2010. Between 2010 and 2013, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the same academic institution. He spent research visits at the London School of Economics and Political Science (England), the University of Utrecht (the Netherlands), the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (Germany), and the University of Bern (Switzerland). He was member in two international research projects funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (Switzerland). He published numerous articles in prestigious peer-reviewed international journals. Also, one book as sole author and two as co-author. He is currently affiliated in important academic institutions abroad, such as the Workgroup for Empiric Research of Religion (AGER) within the University of Bern (Switzerland). Since 2009, he is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEAA) from ”Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi.
