Dr. Mihai Alexandru Ciolan received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi Romania in 2008 and 2010, respectively. From 2010 he started his doctor course at the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi in the field of Plasma, Spectroscopy and Self Organizing Systems and from 2011 joint the InterAcademia community being also enrolled in the Double Degree Program (DDP) between “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi, Romania and Shizuoka University, Japan.

He earned his PhD from Shizuoka University Japan in 2014 and from “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi in 2016. He currently focuses on oxide material synthesis by pulsed laser ablation, magnetron and other techniques, as well as plasma processing of such nanomaterials and thin films for different applications. Starting from 2020 he is a scientific researcher at Research Center on Advanced Materials and Technologies (RAMTECH).
